Fashion on the Sea point Prominade

Watch: Marc Jacobs; Scarf: Burberry

Bag: Ted Baker

So I have been living in Cape Town for the past 3 and a half months working on a film called "Momentum". Every now and again I get to see some one from home and some time in June my lovely Tashi Washi Fundi (Natasha Fundanella) came to town with her new love as well as to see some stores interested in her fashion lable "i_Am Woman".

I had just started night shooting on the film and got home one morning at about 6 or 7am. I decided to stay awake to meet up with Tashi for a shoot on the prominade in Sea point. Although extremely over tired and feeling a bit crazy, as you do living like a vampire while working nights, it was worth the time spent with her shooting like we used to. She is now running around hong kong and I cant wait to see what she comes back with! Looking forward to our next shoot for summer time!

Movie Adventures

Cape Town is now officially my home for the next 4 months. I am working on an action film titled 'Momentum', which is being produced by Anton Ernst and Directed by world renowned cinematographer Stephen Campanelli. This is Stephen's first film that he is directing and I'm in the process of helping him document as much as possible from pre-production through until shooting begins and ends.

My role on the film is to photograph and create all the behind the scenes material for marketing the movie. I honestly think my position in the film industry is really one of the most exciting, I get to observe and capture the magic that goes into creating a high end hollywood film.

The above photograph is the view from a penthouse apartment in the Hip House building  situated in the trendy west end of Cape Towns CBD. Apparently they throw major parties up there in the summer time, but we were there scouting the location to potentially use in the film.

I will continue blogging about my journey on this production and all the interesting people I get to meet and work with. It's a dream to be able to work and live in this pretty city for a while. I doubt I'll ever wanna leave!

My favourite Kind of Portrait

I am starting to build a collection of black and white portraits that I take of the beautiful people in my life. When I have a big enough collection I will print them as a series that I will add to every year.

You can follow style blogger Natasha Fundanella on and see more of my photographs as I document her style.

SoulTrio in my studio

SoulTrio are a DJ Percussion outfit from Johannesburg South Africa. The beautiful lady up there is my twin sister Anastasia Ferrara and the cool cat at her side is Marco Pozzobon. Together these two Itis (italians) create some innovative house tunes. Anastasia plays percussion and adds her dazzling vocal talent to some of the tracks while Mr Pozzobon hits up some deep house beats that make up the back bone of SoulTrio. Im so excited to see them at their next club or festival gig to hear what they are bringing to the dance and house music scene.

A quick hello

My favourite person in the world stopped by last night while I was busy with a shoot to say hello. And of course I couldn't allow him to leave without stealing some shots.

A little bit grunge and a little bit hip hop

I really love this grunge come hip-hop look that Katherine put together herself on one of our shoots. One thing about this girl is that she can play around with fashion and get away with so many different styles.

White Lilly Bridal - A breath of fresh air

White Lily Bridal is simply one of the most beautiful and up to date bridal concepts I have seen yet. Generally I have always viewed anything wedding related as a bit kitsch and out dated, making me cringe at the thought of having to possibly (if I decide to get married), put myself through cheesy wedding expos and the paging through of cream-puff ball gowns that are the furthest thing from my style and taste. My mind was changed when I met Jacelyn Gozadinos, the owner and founder of White Lilly Bridal. She has a beautiful, quaint store in Parkhurst Johannesburg, where she prides herself on giving her customers private and intimate consultations and services. All her dresses and shoes are uniquely hand made and beaded in her very own studio space. White Lilly Bridal is simply feminine and classic. A breath of fresh air!

Boys with Style

Standing on a deck at the Old Mac Daddy venue in Elgin Valley in the Cape, I couldn't take in enough of the crisp air and trendy, well dressed guys at one of the coolest weddings I have ever been to.

Cape Town. The South African Dream.

Cape Town visits are always short and sweet. My recent trip surrendered me completely and utterly head over hills in love with the place. I really believe that CT is the South African dream. A place South African's should be proud of and what a great way to celebrate the year 2014 with Cape Town being announced as the World design capital !
